Cape Kaliakra and the archaeological reserve located on its territory are located 12 km southeast of the town of Kavarna. It is an extended and narrow rocky peninsula, about 2 km into the sea. This is one of the most attractive places for tourists on the Black Sea coast because of the rich history, the preserved nature and the beautiful panoramic views.
Many legends and stories are connected to Cape Kaliakra. The most famous of them tells about 40 Bulgarian girls, led to the beautiful Kaliakra, who jumped in the sea from the rocks to save themselves from the Ottoman Turks.
